Sheffield has several major theatres and a range of smaller venues which, together, offer a busy calendar of cultural events throughout the year.

The Crucible is a large, modern theatre on Tudor Square adjacent to the Arundel Gate Interchange. As well as its own main stage, the Crucible also hosts The Playhouse performing arts space in its premises. Events here include music, talks, touring theatre productions, musicals, shows for families and the Snooker World Championships.

The Lyceum Theatre is a large, Victorian-styled theatre on Tudor Square near the Winter Gardens and Arundel Gate Interchange. The Lyceum Theatre hosts West End productions, ballets, opera, pantomimes and musicals, with something for everyone.

The Montgomery is a city centre theatre opposite Sheffield Town Hall hosting plays and talks for adults and children alike.
