Below you will find places that can help you with food, clothes, data, baby items, and toys.

All services are friendly, confidential, and open to people in need.

What can we help you with?

If you need help getting food, there are many food banks and community food services in Sheffield.

You can find places that offer:

  • free or low-cost food

  • community meals

  • advice on benefits and money

  • support for families

Community Meals

Open Kitchen Social Club - a social eating project in the centre of Sheffield

If you need clothing, there are places in Sheffield that can help. The City of Sanctuary Multi-Agency Drop-In offers:

  • free clothes

  • shoes

  • coats

  • children’s clothing

  • support for refugees, asylum seekers, and anyone in need

If you need help getting online, you can get free or low-cost mobile data, SIM cards, or internet support from the Learn for Life Enterprise Databank.
This service helps people who cannot afford internet access.

They can support you with:

  • free SIM cards

  • mobile data

  • basic help with getting online

To be eligible for free mobile data through the National Databank, you must be:

  • 18+ years old
  • AND from a low income household

And qualify in one or several of the following statements:

  • Have no access or insufficient access to the internet at home
  • AND/OR have no or insufficient access to the internet when away from the home
  • AND/OR cannot afford your existing monthly contract or top up

If you have a baby and need essential items, Baby Basics Sheffield can help.
They support families who are struggling by giving free baby items such as:

  • nappies

  • baby clothes

  • blankets

  • prams

  • toiletries

  • other basic items for newborns and children

If you need toys for your children, The Joy Bank can support you.
They provide free or donated toys for families who are finding things difficult.
You can get:

  • books

  • games
