Sheffield has a mix of cinemas, from national companies showing the latest releases on huge screens, to independent businesses offering a variety of classics, special selections, and current films.

The city is also home to several film festivals including Sheffield DocFest and ShAFF - the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.

Located on Paternoster row (near Sheffield Train Station), the Showroom is an independent cinema with a cafe which shows a mix of modern releases and selected classics. The cinema also hosts community and arts groups and caters to other events.

Found on the Moor (opposite the Moor Market), the Light Cinema hosts a cafe and showings of all the latest releases on its blockbuster screens.

Found on George Street (near The Crucible Theatre), the Curzon is a smaller cinema with food and a bar showing a varied programme, including the latest releases.

Located on Arundel Gate (opposite the bus interchange), the Odeon Luxe is a revamped cinema showing the all the latest releases in refurbished screens.

Found within the Valley Centertainment leisure centre, Cineworld is a large cinema showing the latest releases in range of screens including IMAX.
