Support for parents and carers
Being a parent can be very rewarding, but it can also be challenging.
In Sheffield, there are services that offer:
- Advice for families
- Activities for children and young people
- Practical support to help with everyday life
These services can help families feel supported and connected.
What you can do:
- Get general family support – Learn about council services that support children and families.
- Join parenting programmes – Take part in seminars, discussion groups and parenting courses to help with children’s sleep, behaviour, and relationships.
- Visit a Family Hub – Access support for children aged 0–19 (or up to 25 with SEND) at one of Sheffield’s seven Family Hubs.
- Find specialist advice – Get information on:
- Children’s mental health (coping with anxiety, exam stress, emotions)
- Family and couple relationships (support for parents whether together or separated)
- Supporting young people with sexuality and gender identity
