Mental Health Support

Looking after your mental health is important. Mental health problems are common, and support is available if you feel stressed, anxious, low, or depressed.

You can get help from different services depending on how serious your problem is.

What can we help you with?

Your GP can help with mental health concerns. They can:

  • Listen to how you are feeling

  • Give advice about coping with stress, anxiety, or depression

  • Prescribe medicines if needed

  • Refer you to mental health specialists or counsellors

You must be registered with a GP to get help. If you haven't got a GP, you can find and register with a GP on the NHS website.

NHS 111

If you are unsure what to do, you can call 111 for advice and select the mental health option.
Trained staff can help you understand what support is available and tell you where to go.

You can also get help online at 111.nhs.uk.
